It is now a “thing”: driven by a need of distinction from the big guys, an increasing amount of small producers are investigating this field once the Scots’ sole prerogative! Some only produce single malts, others consider malted barley yet another grain to play with, along with their favorites, corn and rye. While this category is becoming important, its definition by the governing authorities is still under way. You’ll learn about the malting process, the term “malt whiskey” and many other things.

This class is part of our "Alt Whisk(e)y" series . . . Exploring upcoming trends, unusual but noteworthy spirits, "indie" style productions, etc. Bottled water, nuts and crakers are provided while we investigate a 4 x 1 ounce tasting flight.
