Defining what makes a product ‘craft’ has become a heated debate in the industry. Many identify a craft product by the total volume a distillery can produce, but can large industrial distilleries produce craft products? Or, more importantly, can they still be considered craft? How do we separate and define craft between categories?
Here at Astor, we have the unique opportunity to work with such a wide range of distillers who make spectacular products, it’s tough for us to limit one’s craft by how much a producer makes. There are large producers who release exclusive, small batch, and even single barrel ranges that are more than worthy of an Astor Craft designation.
