WhistlePig Old World is an American straight rye whiskey, aged 12 years, and finished in a combination of Madeira, Port, and Sauternes wine casks. We fell in love with the rich spiciness of the Madeira and chose a blend with 80% Madeira, 10% Sauternes, and 10% port. We'll be explaining the Old World Cask selection process as we taste each individual barrel finish, our custom pick and some WhistlePig 12 and 15 year.
David Pickerell is the Master Distiller at WhistlePig, and a true legend in the whiskey business. After graduating from West Point and serving in the army for over a decade, he ran the distillery at Maker’s Mark for fifteen years. Since then he’s been a force in the craft spirits industry, helping brands like Corsair, Hillrock Estate, and WhistlePig. Join us as David shares his knowledge and we experience a great night of great rye!
