Char No 4 is very pleased to announce a special tasting with Jeremy Kidde of New York's own Black Dirt Distillery this Monday, October 20th, at 7:30 pm!

To Drink: Black Dirt Bourbon (Batch #5), Black Dirt Apple Jack (Batch #3), Doc's Cider, and a welcome cocktail, the Old New York.

Black Dirt takes its name from the dark, fertile soil left by an ancient glacial lake that once covered thousands of acres of upstate New York. Perfectly suited for growing crops such as corn, this Black Dirt has never been used for Bourbon production - until now. Black Dirt also produces Apple Jack, another quintessential American spirits imbued with history, controversy and fruit. Before Prohibition, the Black Dirt region was home to dozens of Apple Jack distilleries. Now Black Dirt Apple Jack carries on this local tradition with a 100% apple brandy aged a minimum of 5 years in charred American Oak barrels.

The evening begins with a welcome cocktail, the Old New York, which will feature all New York ingredients, including Black Dirt Bourbon, Black Dirt Apple Jack, Morris Kitchen Spiced Apple Syrup and Fee Brothers Bitters. Jeremy will then walk you through Black Dirt's spirits as well their refreshing cider.

The tasting will include a sampling of delicious snacks from our kitchen.

The tasting will be limited to 20 guests. Reservations can be made at Char No. 4 or by calling the restaurant at 718-643-2106.
