IT'S HOUSING WORKS DISH!'s FIRST ANNIVERSARY!!!

To celebrate, they have a glorious night of whiskey and pie planned for you!!

DISH is sumptuous multi-course feast of readings and stories, as told by New York's hottest chefs, restauranteurs, mixologists, food authors, bloggers and critics, presented by Kimberly M. Wetherell of Spirited and David Gutowski of Largehearted Boy.

Please join us on Wednesday, May 7th at 7:00pm at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe, with an exciting line-up of guests, guaranteed to make your mind water!

$5 suggested donation.

DRINKS:
A panel of whiskey experts, moderated by another whiskey expert, with whiskey tasting to boot! Panelists include Allison Patel (Brenne Whisky), Heather Greene (The Flatiron Room) and more to be announced! Tasting run by Emily Ross-Johnson, The Astoria Whiskey Society.

DINNER:
Pie for dinner? YOU BETCHA! Sisters Melissa and Emily Elsen are the power pie duo behind Four & Twenty Blackbirds, Brooklyn's preeminent pie shop. Help celebrate their new cookbook and the opening of their 2nd shop in the main branch of the BROOKLYN PUBLIC LIBRARY! (rescheduled from April)

DESSERT:
Kate Lebo discusses and reads from her first book, A Commonplace Book of Pie. Her writing has appeared in Best New Poets, Gastronomica, and Poetry Northwest among other journals, and she’s currently at work on a cookbook, Pie School: Lessons in Fruit, Flour and Butter, forthcoming in fall 2014.

All proceeds from the event will benefit Housing Works' programs to assist men, women, and children living with or affected by homelessness and HIV/AIDS.

DISH is held on the first Wednesday of each month at Housing Works Bookstore Cafe (126 Crosby Street, NYC) and is presented by David Gutowski of Largehearted Boyand Kimberly M. Wetherell of Spirited.
