GORDON & MACPHAIL SCOTCH: ELGIN'S FINEST
6:00pm to 8:00pm
On May 24, 1895, James Gordon and John Alexander MacPhail opened their shop in Elgin, Scotland, the mission of which was to select and buy casks of malt whiskies from local distilleries and to create house blends for customers within the area. Silent partner John Urquhart, who would eventually assume ownership of the business, also specialized in single malts and prepared focused bottlings for such famous houses as Macallan, Glenlivet, Linkwood, and others. In this capacity, he began selecting and filling his own casks, using ex-Sherry casks at these and other distilleries, where he matured his whiskies for longer than was customary at the time. This small enterprise became the cornerstone of the Gordon & MacPhail label, single malts with integrity. Come try our lineup as we show off what Gordon & MacPhail has to offer.
