Prohibition Repeal Day with Tuthilltown @ Char No. 4

Monday, December 5, 2011 - 5:00pm

Today marks the 78th anniversary of the repeal of prohibition. We're celebrating with a tribute to Tuthilltown Distillery, New York's first legal distillery since those dry days were ended.

Tonight only we will be offering two Repeal Day drink specials: the first is our take on the Scofflaw Cocktail, named after those brave souls who "scoffed at the law" during the dark days of prohibition. It is a delightful blend of Hudson Manhattan Rye, spiced liqueur, pomegranate, lemon & orange for $8. Our second special is the Hudson Four Grain Bourbon for less than half price at $5 for a one ounce taste.

Joining us to raise a glass to the Twenty-first Amendment will be Ralph Erenzo, distiller and founding partner of Tuthilltown Spirits, and Michael A. Lerner, PhD, a prohibition historian and author. They will be available in the bar to answer questions and to discuss New York distilling history beginning around 10pm. You can read more about Ralph and Michael below.

Tonight's drink specials will be available from 5pm until Midnight. Hope to see you there.
