Rye: the King Grain

It would probably survive Apocalypse: rye is a hardy grain…that makes beautiful whiskey! Spicy, minty, vegetal, fruity…it used to be America’s only whiskey, and after disappearing behind the almighty Bourbon, it’s coming back in fashion. We love it, and so should you, but there is rye and there is rye. You’ll learn of the different types of rye whiskeys and their best applications: sipping neat, on ice, in a highball or in cocktails.

This class is part of our "Alt Whisk(e)y" series . . . Exploring upcoming trends, unusual but noteworthy spirits, "indie" style productions, etc. Bottled water, nuts and crakers are provided while we investigate a 4 x 1 ounce tasting flight.
