For Char No 4's first whiskey class this month, they'll be exploring wheated bourbons. The traditional recipe for bourbon is built on a foundation of corn and rye grains. However, for over 150 years a small and vocal minority of distillers and drinkers have sworn by bourbons that replace the rye grain with wheat, making for a sweeter brown spirit.
Please them on Saturday, April 13th at 4:00 pm to delve into the sweeter side of bourbon. Allan Roth, one of their resident whiskey experts, will guide you through some samples of our favorite "wheaters" including Rebel Reserve, Larceny and Old Weller Antique 107. Four Roses Small Batch, a rye based whiskey, will also be included for comparison.
The class is $45 including tax and gratuity.
