Whiskey Roundtable - Women of Whiskey @ The Rum House

When do you go from occasional whiskey drinker to passionate whiskey obsessive? Join us for the first meeting of the Whiskey Roundtable to find out how some of today’s women of whiskey got hooked! This Whiskey Roundtable will include Nicola Riske, Kristina Sutter Nash, Stephanie Moreno and Ellie Tam.

Managing programs and special events requires a lot of time and can be grueling. Nicola says the time flies working with Diageo because she takes great pleasure in talking about Whiskey, a topic that she loves.

Sitting at her first Scotch seminar, long before she was a Master of Scotch, Kristina learned that whisky can range in flavor as much as Pinot Grigio to Petit syrah. An avid wine drinker, she had found her next love. These trainings and keen interest have developed her palate to truly appreciate and understand the complexity and flavor profiles of the great Gaelic water of life.

As spirits buyer, Stephanie was afforded an opportunity most only dream of: to be paid to taste alcohol. Tasting products from bottom shelf vodka to 50 year old Single Malt Scotch, she has tasted it all. There are, however, those spirits that speak to her a bit louder and they are often of the brown persuasion. She would like to show you one of the ones that drives her to drink.

All it took was one visit to Scotland and a single dram to transform Ellie into a Scotch fanatic. Since then, she's explored the world of whisky obsessively and shares her passion with the public through the ever-growing website NYCWhisky.com and by coordinating events through the NYC Whisky Enthusiasts group. Ellie can be found nearly every Monday at the Tribeca bar Ward III's Whisk(e)y Monday.
