The distillery is in Woodford County in central Kentucky. Distilling on the site began in 1780 and the distillery itself was erected in 1838, making it the oldest of nine bourbon distilleries in current operation in Kentucky. In 2000 is was designated a National Historic Landmark.

Noorman’s Kil is a new whisky bar at 609 Grand Street in Williamsburg with a selection of over 350 whiskies.
It hosts regular tastings and other events. An assortment of grilled cheese sandwiches are on the menu and 12 rotating beers are be available on tap along with other spirits for the non-whiskey inclined.
