World Whiskey

Saturday, August 20, 2016 - 2:30pm

New Zealand, Canada, Bhutan, France, Spain, Australia, Ireland, japan...we're missing a few, but all we have is 2 hours! 8 whiskies to challenge your strong opinions on Scotch and Bourbon, or simply to broaden your horizons. If whisky can be made just about anywhere on the planet, from Iceland to South Africa, from Mexico to Taiwan, given fermentation of grains, the distillation of the resulting beer and its eventual maturation in (oak) barrels, you can easily identify flavor profiles opposite from one another, given the diversity of cultures, climates and soils, yeast strains and bacteria present, as well as barrels used. There are so many different factors that can give a whisky its personality...this class is about showing you how vast this world of whisk(e)y is. There is a whisky for everyone. Good students would have taken "a" Scotch and "a" Bourbon class before.
