Whiskey and Weenies: Widow Jane Pours at Coney Island

There are plenty of ways to drink good whiskey in New York. Very few of them involve a foul ball. On Thursday, August 13, the Brooklyn Cyclones host their first Whiskey and Weenies Night at Maimonides Park — and Brooklyn's own Widow Jane Distillery is pouring.

First pitch is 6:40 PM. The whiskey is poured in a private tasting area for ticket holders.

Tickets are only available through the event's Fevo page. This is not a walk-up deal — the tasting area is limited to people who buy through that link.

Why Widow Jane is the right call

Widow Jane distills in Red Hook, a few miles up the shore from Coney Island, which makes this about as local as a whiskey pairing gets in this city. Their 10 Year bourbon is the bottle most people meet them through, and it holds up next to a ballpark hot dog better than it has any right to.
