This will be our 2nd tasting at BUBBLE LOUNGE Tribeca's downstairs private room (entrance on 228 West Broadway).
The space is gorgeous and easy to get to (1 train at Franklin, A, C, E at Canal). Last time was awesome and it's a real pleasure to come back.
What: One bottle of ARDBEG DAY
How much: poured at cost i-e $5 per oz.
Why is it a good deal: Released about a week ago in a rather small amount this whisky is said to be a cask strength vatting of 8, 9, and 12 year-old barrels, finished for 6 months in ex-sherry casks.
Where: BUBBLE LOUNGE - 228 West Broadway (Tribeca)
When: Tuesday June 12th.
What Time: I'll open the bottle at 6:30pm sharp; tasting will last until the bottle is gone.
Requirements: be over 21, be there at 6:30pm if you want a chance to get a dram & have $5 on hand.
What do they say about it?
"I needed to taste this a couple times before deciding how much I like this whisky. (I had the same experience with Ardbeg Alligator. Very peculiar.)
And I do like this whisky a lot. It’s young and full of testosterone (but not too young), and there’s a nicely sweet, almost sedating side to the whisky that helps to tame this beast."

What is the Hooch Project NYC?
A super casual, nonprofit project aiming at discovering what spirits are really about by drinking the best stuff for very little money.
One, sometimes twice a month I select ONE bottle of an excellent & rare spirit which is then poured at COST at one of my friends' bar.
Tasting lasts until the bottle is gone.
