We are back after a long and busy summer...
And to celebrate we will be tasting a real peat monster, finished in Chateau d'Yquem casks.
What: One bottle of Bruichladdich's Octomore Comus 4.2
How much: poured at cost i-e $7 per oz.
Why is it a good deal: a whisky is usually considered heavily peated when reaching around 50 ppm of phenol. Comus is 167 ppm...and to tame the beast it has been finished in Chateau d'Yquem casks.
Where: Bubble Lounge, 228 West Broadway (Tribeca).
When: Tuesday Sept 25th.
What Time: I'll open the bottle at 6:30pm sharp; tasting will last until the bottle is gone.
Requirements: be over 21, be there at 6:30pm if you want a chance to get a dram & have $7 on hand.
What's the Hooch Project?
A super casual, nonprofit project aiming at discovering what spirits are really about by drinking the best stuff for very little money.
Two, sometimes three times a month I select ONE bottle of an excellent & rare spirit which is then poured at COST at one of my friends' bar.
Tasting lasts until the bottle is gone.
