Tonight our tasting will be from Compass Box Whisky, a specialist Scotch whiskymaker. Begin with the Asyla Blended Scotch Whisky. This is a light-bodied blend of fruity malt and rich, sweet grain whiskies. All are aged in first-fill American oak casks to yield their trademark style: soft and rich with a hint of vanilla. The Oak Cross Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is named to illustrate its aging in both American and French oak casks. It has vanilla notes from the American oak and spicy, clove-like flavors from the French oak. The Flaming Heart Vatted Malt Scotch Whisky is a big, smoky malt whisky with rich, concentrated vanilla and spice character. The Great King St. New York Blend ! is a custom Limited Edition, made especially for our city. It is a hearty, full-flavored style of Scotch whisky with a big smoky, dried fruit and malt complexity.
