The Flavor of Whiskey: An In-Depth Tasting with Craft Distiller Cheryl Lins
6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Meet Cheryl Lins, proprietor and distiller at New York’s renowned Delaware Phoenix Distillery, and taste your way through the whiskey distillation process – all the way from grain to bottle.

You’ll learn about different production methods and their impact on what we care about most: the flavor. In many whiskeys, much of the flavor comes from oak, but flavor can also come from the grain, the fermentation, the blend, or the choices made when making the “cuts” (between the heads, hearts, and tails of the distillate).

As we taste all these different flavors, we’ll pinpoint their origins in the distilling process. Cheryl will give you a crash course in distilling terminology and mechanics, then guide you through a short history of recipes and stills. You’ll taste young whiskey, old whiskey, rye whiskey, bourbon whiskey, and a few in between.

Join us for an adventure in distilling!
