The Glenlivet 15 Bottling Note
This 15 year old expression from The Glenlivet, was matured in French Limousin Oak casks. Limousin Oak is a popular choice for maturation of Cognac.
The nose is rich and oaked. There are notes of chewy resinous wood with a well-balanced acidity. Fudge and Madeira with apple crumble with calvados. The palate is full and rich with winter spice; cinnamon and cloves, thick oak with developing aridity. The finish is long and dry with a peppery note.
The Glenlivet 18 Year Old
The Glenlivet 18 Year Old is the perfect expression of age and elegance – balancing the archetypal ripe fruit notes of The Glenlivet with a drier evocative oak influence. The perfect after-dinner dram.
Elegant, complex, oak and fruit. An enticing bitter/sweet symphony.
Tasting Notes:
COLOUR:Old gold, with ripe apricot hues.
NOSE:Fragrant, elegant, complex with a sweet oakiness reminiscent of an antique shop. Oak leads the way to heady floral fragrances of Freesia and Peony. Toffee notes emerge in time along with butterscotch, mint chocolate and summer fruit pie.
PALATE:Smooth and velvety, with a firm foundation. Sweetness is immediately followed by a tantalising burst of spices and bitter oranges drying out on oaky notes.
FINISH:Lasting, oaky and gingery. Distant smoke. A dry austere touch.
Nàdurra is the Gaelic word for natural. Revisiting 19th century practises, and unlike most modern whiskies, this single malt is not chill filtered, giving the mouth feel more body and a richer texture. A bold innovation in single malt.
It is aged 16 years in first fill American oak casks.
Color is pale gold with bright lemony shades.
The nose is intense, tickling, fresh and clean. Resolutely fruity, lemon pulp and green apple. Freshness enhanced by aniseed fringe. Creamy note of praline. In the back, herbal and spicy notes.
On the palate is crisp, appetizing. Challenging for the taste buds but never burning. Poached peaches in a vanilla syrup. White chocolate. Aniseed lollipop. Candied ginger.
The finish is dry, clean, and crisp. Very long, aniseed, refreshing. Bitter oranges, gingery.
Summary is crisp and fresh, fruity and herbal. Superbly balanced, full-bodied and enticing.
The Glenlivet 21Year Old Archive is a batch produced whisky using only hand-selected casks. It is a complex whisky with sherried and wood notes integrating seamlessly with the aromatic palette. Let the pleasure linger late into the night.
The color is amber with sparkling copper shades.
The nose is an opulent, mature nose with a sherry influence. An intricate array of wood and fruit: Christmas cake, sultanas, maraschino cherry. Water enlightnes the fruity bouquet and brings out vanilla and lighter notes of ripe peaches. Pear and marzipan pie. Luscious barley sugar aromas.
On the palate, this full bodied whisky is unctuous and mouth coating, almost syrupy. Oak holds the reins back, releasing a drying spiciness of cinnamon, ginger, walnut, and dark chocolate.
The finish is everlasting and warming with lingering presence of toasted hazelnuts and a full layer of liquorice.
