September was declared National Bourbon Heritage Month by the US Senate back in 2007, and this class is the opportunity to get in on the action! Back in 1964, journalists had dubbed the whiskey 'the native spirit of America' and yet, it's only under the harsh economic conditions of the 2008/09 financial crisis that Bourbon was re-discovered 'en masse'. The drink was dusty and had a bad rap and now, from Brooklyn to Austin, from San Francisco to New Orleans, you can’t manage to keep your friends long enough if you don’t stock up on great Bourbon…you might not even get the next promotion if you can’t show your Bourbon and Rye knowledge around! Do yourself a favor: come to this class! Today, it's hard to put your hands on what used to be available for a handful of dollars in any liquor store of America! Bourbon has finally acquired the top spot on the podium, but at a cost: your old favorite now costs a fortune! But you know us...we have our ways, and we're hoarders! In this class, we'll mix History, production technicalities and brand specificities while sipping on a bunch of amazing bottles: Pappy Van Winkle 20 years, Blanton's Japanese edition, Bob Dylan's Heaven's Door 10 year old Decade series, Michter's 10 years single barrel, Jefferson's Grand Sélection château Suduiraut finish, Four Roses OBSK NY single barrel and Hardin's Creek 'Boston' release. Bourbon-friendly bites will be served before the class starts.
