Meet the Distiller: Jim McEwan of Bruichladdich

Location: The Lounge
Price: $55.00
Date: Fri, Nov 5th, 6:30 PM - 8:30 PM

We’re thrilled to invite you to join in this unique opportunity to taste through a flight of Bruichladdich’s most fascinating whiskies with Master Distiller Jim McEwan. The three-times-decorated Distiller of the Year rarely ventures out of Islay these days, but for this one night only he will be your guide on a delightful journey of discovery, as we explore the many facets of the Bruichladdich portfolio.

Bruichladdich (pronounced “Brook-Laddie”, from the Gaelic term for raised beach) was built on the shores of Loch Indaal on Scotland’s west coast in 1881. Unlike other Islay distilleries with their heavily peated taste, Bruichladdich is a more sophisticated single malt with a fantastic range of flavors. The whisky is distilled from 100% Scottish barley, much of it organically and locally grown - from different terroirs and peating levels.

Join us as we explore the many magnificent whiskies this ground-breaking distillery has to offer. Jim will carefully explain each expression in the flight (including, but certainly not limited to, their celebrated Rocks, Port Charlotte, Octomore, and other rare delights). We’ll also be serving a specialty Bruichladdich cocktail created for the evening, and Jim will be signing bottles following the tasting.
