Mixology Boot Camp with Kelley Slagle- Shaken Drinks: Sour & Not Too Sweet
oin USQ and Cocktail Kingdom's Kelley Slagle for a "101-styled" seminar aspiring home mixologists should not miss! USQ will bring several interactive mixology sessions to the Salon this year and we're very excited to welcome Kelley to kick it all off!
Do you want to impress your guests with your awesome cocktail creations? Have you tried making cocktails at home but were underwhelmed with your results? This class will put you well on your way to making great original cocktails. Here you will get a head start on what it takes most bartenders years to learn. We will discuss the theory behind mixing drinks, what a cocktail is and why they heck we should make mixed drinks.
This class is all about "Sours". Starting with the classic sour cocktail, i.e. whiskey sour, and variations on this classic formula we will make and taste then move on to the Margarita, sidecar and more, and by the end of the class you will have the experience to recreate these classics at home and start creating you own, unique cocktails. The only prerequisite for this class is having a desire to make delicious cocktails although it will help if you know what a jigger is and have used a shaker once or twice!
Kelley will be featuring several brands including Glenrothes Select Reserve Scotch Whisky, H by Hine Cognac, Chinaco Reposado Tequila, Barsol Supremo Mosto Verde Pisco, No. 3 London Dry Gin, Curacao of Curacao, and more! After mixing and shaking your way to a better understanding of cocktail creation, share your creations with fellow event-goers as a spread of cocktail hour nibbles are served!
