What are eight world-famous whisky distilleries doing on a small Scottish island the size of Chicago? Now's your chance to learn, and taste, your way through whiskies that make even the most hardcore Scotch fans blush.
Join New York Adventure Club (http://www.nyadventureclub.com/) for a tasting of whiskies from Islay (aka "Whisky Island"), the southernmost island of Scotland that contains eight whisky distilleries dating back to 1779.
Led by Kurt Maitland, founder of the Manhattan Whiskey Club and Deputy Editor of the Whiskey Reviewer, our unique experience at this intimate space in Manhattan will include:
• An overview of Islay whiskies, and what makes them different from every other whiskey in the world
• The 101 on the eight (and soon to be nine) distilleries of Islay, and why they're known for their smoke and peat whiskies
• A tasting that will explore several world-class whiskies from Islay
• A chance to mingle with other adventurers who enjoy whisky as much as you do
If we're lucky, we'll get to taste some bonus whiskies straight from the annual Islay Festival of Music and Malt!
