When it comes to Bourbon, 10 years is quite substantial! 10 years ago, you couldn't find many whiskies that age. As a matter of fact, while we were early Bourbon advocates when we opened our doors in 2004, we couldn't buy much of the stuff...sure, there was Pappy already (and it was then easier to get!), but generally speaking, producers and customers alike didn't care much for variety nor great age. Today, with an offering of over 150, our selection has not only expanded physically, but it is safe to say that the average age is a lot higher than before. Why is this? Most 10 year old we're tasting during this class were bottled in the 80's and 90's, when only the fanciest palates would call for such age statements...they were today's 18 year olds! We'll take a good look at Post-Prohibition Bourbon production and track all factors that presided over its evolution until 2016. This is quite a rare line-up; whether you just fell in love with the stuff and want to get a few ounces of KY History, or you're looking into understanding the modern origins of Bourbon, or even if you're just of the curious kind, this class is right up for you.
