From just over the river in Red Hook is the Van Brunt Stillhouse. The name pays tribute to Cornelius Van Brunt, one of the founders of New York City. Tonight we will taste their Single Malt Whiskey, made with malted barley from Six Point Brewery (located 500 feet away; just down the street). After fermentation it is distilled twice through a handmade copper pot still and put into new charred American oak casks to rest for about nine months. Each bottle is filled and labeled by hand.
