Tonight at Bowery & Vine, they will be tasting both a Bourbon and Gin from the Watershed Distillery in Columbus, Ohio. The Bourbon is double-distilled, aged two years in charred American oak barrels, and made in small batches using Corn, and a combination of Wheat, Rye and Spelt. The Bourbon Barrel Gin uses Watershed's Four Peel Gin, which is heavy on grapefruit and orange peel notes and then aged for nine to twelve months in selected old bourbon barrels. The nose displays aromas of citrus, vanilla, caramel, wood and smoke flavors of bourbon. On the palate, there will be an expected juniper flavor, along with hints of caramel and vanilla.
