Whiskey 101
This is our most popular class to date. After taking this class, you'll be well versed in concepts such as the role of peat in whisky-making, chill filtration, Scotland's whisky making regions, how to nose and taste, evaluation, and even how to pronounce Gaelic words such as Islay, Lagavulin, and Glenfiddich. We'll taste six drams (and you'll know exactly what a dram is, too). Signature cocktail and light appetizers provided. Bottle Keep members receive 15% off.
Led by Heather Greene, New York’s first official whiskey Sommelier and Director of Whiskey Education, classes will be carefully tailored under her extensive experience in teaching to a wide variety of students over the past 8 years. She is one of the world’s only female whiskey experts and was recently featured in the NY Post as “New York’s Dame of Drinks.” You will walk away with both a pronounced appreciation for whiskey and a light skip in your step after one of these fun and dynamic courses.
All classes are held upstairs in our tasting room. The space has been designed specifically for these classes and all details have been considered. A long 16’ black walnut tasting table, moderator podium, projection screen, sound-proofed curtains and a separate PA system. Tastings start on time, so please arrive early to avoid any interruption.
From the beginner to the most avid dark spirits lover, our classes are designed to continue taste development and excitement.
