Distillery Tours and First Release Bourbon
by Kings County Distillery on Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 5:11pm
Happy Holidays from Kings County! At long last, our bourbon is going to be available in limited supply, and so we’re opening the distillery for tours, tastings, and retail sales, just in time for the holidays.
For the next three weekends—December 4+5, 11+12, and 18+19, the distillery will be open from 12:00pm to 7:00pm for sales, tastings, and tours. We will be selling moonshine at $20 for 200ml bottles and $35 for 375ml bottles. We will also have a limited amount of bourbon for sale. We will be conducting tastings of both the moonshine and bourbon for $5 per person. And we will be giving free, informal distillery tours each of those days at the following times: 1pm, 2pm, 3pm, 4pm, 5pm. Consider yourself warned: the distillery is very small. We will make-do as best we can.
After careful tasting and deliberation, we judged our first four bourbon barrels to be mature and ready to be bottled. We’re really proud of our bourbon, it’s sweet with a balanced oak flavor, with notes of clove, cinnamon, and caramel. While there’s not enough to release in stores, we’ll have a few cases to sell out of the distillery during December weekends and wanted to offer these to anyone intrepid enough to make the trip to visit us. Each 200ml bottle will sell at the distillery for $23. For those outside the New York area, or unable to come to Williamsburg, the bourbon will be available for purchase more widely in late February, once we have enough to stock stores.
We look forward to seeing you and sharing our latest, and please feel free to pass this message along to anyone who you feel might be interested.
Yours sincerely,
Colin and David

A few additional notes:
The distillery is located at 35 Meadow Street at Bogart (near the Grand stop of the L Train), and buzz Kings County Distillery for access.
After December 19, the Distillery will be closed to visitors until further announcement.
You can pay for your purchase with cash or credit.
There is no phone number at the distillery. The best way to reach us is via email: [email protected].
For legal reasons, we are only permitted to sell on our premises. We cannot deliver. Visit our website liquor stores that carry our moonshine and can deliver or ship. Unfortunately, the only way to get your hands on some 2010 bourbon is to show up in person.
